It was a sunny day. I was alone, walking home from the beach when suddenly a black van stopped near me. I gazed at the window which slowly opened to reveal a person that I didn’t know. However, he acted like I’ve known him all my life, but he didn’t know my name or any details about my life. He then proceeded to ask me about some private information, what my name was, where I lived etc. I didn’t tell him anything. He suddenly opened his door and I began to run. Instead of leaving, he began to chase after me. I realized that this was a life-or-death situation. Quickly, while he was looking at the van, I hid in a nearby bush. I quickly stopped breathing loudly and looked at him as he ran uphill. Then, when he was on the top of the hill, I burst out of the bush and I ran faster than I ever could to get to the nearby police station. However, he noticed me, and once again, began to chase after me. But, unfortunately for me, I realized that he was faster than me. He was now within a few meters behind me, and the police station is surrounded by fences twice the height of mine. I couldn’t believe it. There was only a fence separating me and safety, but a large one. I was thinking to myself, is this the end? But, I was still running away from that man, who can now almost grab me. So, as a last-ditch effort, I decided to squeeze in between the bars of the fence. He was now millimeters behind me. I slowly counted down from five to one, and then I spread out my whole body as much as I could. I was now somehow, in the police station. While still running, I told a nearby policeman about the man. The policeman arrested him and thanked me for reporting the crime. It turns out, that man was a kidnapper, and he had already attempted to kidnap three people before me, but failed and then escaped before the police could arrest him. He is now sentenced to twenty years in jail and I feel proud for escaping him and reporting him to the authorities. I went to buy myself an ice cream to reward myself for all that hard work.
